The Zalecze & Zuchlow site, Poland

Załęcze & Żuchlów site, Poland

Map of the Załęcze & Żuchlów region. The area marked with the thin blue line covers the area with the gas fields and the two administrative seats of the area are circled with a thick red line.

The Załęcze & Żuchlów site lies 60 km north of Wrocław and 100 km south of Poznań. The area destined for CCS encompasses approximately 1000 km2.
The objective of research work in the Załęcze & Żuchlów area is to perform a characterisation of an onshore gas reservoir in Poland from the first stages through to the development of an injection strategy. A comprehensive analysis of possibilities of CO2 injection into the natural gas fields will be carried out. Realisation of the detailed analysis of available geological data, reservoir and operational performance of a series of laboratory tests and computer simulations will create the best possible scenario for CO2 injection into deep geological structures.
