D5.3 - Flow dynamic and deformation of the storage complex, Zalecze & Zuchlow site

The task was focused on dynamic simulation of CO2 injection performed by AGH and extended by numerical simulations for geomechanical analysis done by TNO and GFZ. Main input for the work carried out in Task 5.3 were static models prepared within Task 5.2 by AGH team. After model validation based on the long exploitation history, these models were used to investigate the performance of CO2 storage in both depleted gas fields. Two geomechanical modelling studies have been carried out to evaluate the geomechanical effects associated with gas extraction and potential future CO2 injection into two depleted gas fields Zalecze and Zuchlow.

Storage capacity of the site was estimated in dynamic conditions including main trapping mechanisms and geomechanical responses of the site were identified.
