Deliverable D4.3 –  Techno-economic analysis, Danish site
The deliverable presents a collection of techno-economic data for the Vedsted site, a prospective storage site for onshore geological storage of CO2 in the Northern part of Denmark. To some extent the data collection benefits from the work directed by Vattenfall during a period of 3 years. Here Vattenfall matured the storage project to some degree until the project was abandoned due to a decision from the Danish Parliament stating that any application for onshore CO2 storage will not be approved before 2020.
An exploration programme was undertaken including acquiring of a 2D seismic survey together with geological and dynamic modelling work.
Cost estimates for a continued exploration programme is given. Costs for a development phase including injection strategies, drilling and monitoring campaigns are estimated. Further the operation and subsequent abandonment phases are assessed.
Data will be used for techno-economic simulations in the SiteChar project.
